About this event

Devan Sipher, MFA

Everyone has a story. The trick is figuring out precisely what that story is and being able to write it down in a way that is clear and compelling. This course is designed to help you tell that story. There will be spontaneous exercises to free your creative impulses and detailed discussion about craft. But what is unique about this course is that each week you will receive extensive, one-on-one feedback on all your writing, from word choice to story structure, just as if you were hiring a private writing coach, but at a fraction of the price. The goal is to come away with the first pages of a memoir as well as a clear understanding of your individual strengths as a writer and how to use them to your advantage. This is a rare opportunity to learn from one of New York’s leading writers on the art of writing memoir.

Note: Recommended for both first-time writers and experienced ones who wish to break through to the next level in their work. Limited Enrollment.

(5 sessions) Tuesdays, October 15–
