A Beginner's Guide to Organic, Vegan Soapmaking: With Advanced Techniques in Color and Design

A ONE-DAY WORKSHOP

Sunday, June 23, 2013,10am–5:30pm

Come have lots of fun in this hands-on creative workshop in which we will learn how to make traditional cold process soaps completely from scratch using natural ingredients. We will explore the healing properties of such key ingredients as essential oils and herbs and learn how best to combine these therapeutic and fragrant components in our own blends. We will also learn five advanced color techniques: funneling and faux funneling; “peacock swirl”; color embellishment; vertical molding; and “column pouring” using micas, oxides, and natural herbs. Come learn this highly useful and deeply satisfying skill from Donna McGee, a true master soapmaker.
