About this event
Come learn how to prepare delicious, easy-to make vegetarian meals based on Ayurvedic principles, which emphasize balancing one’s diet with the seasons, eating according to one’s dosha (constitution/type), and making sure our foods are easy to assimilate and optimally health-promoting. In the fall we need to consume foods that are warming and slightly cleansing, so we will learn how to prepare soups, seasonal vegetables, grains, legumes, sauces, drinks and desserts that balance the body in fluctuating weather. We will explore the healing properties of foods and spices; discover how Ayurvedic principles can be applied to any type of cuisine; and even learn the appropriate Sanskrit mantras to begin our meals. Each class will combine lecture, cooking demonstrations and a sumptuous dinner.
